TriSourceObserve | Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Version: 1.0 | Effective date: 8 April 2026. TriSourceObserve respects and protects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information, and the rights you hold. It applies to your use of our website, newsletter subscriptions, and communications with us.

Section 1

Information We Collect

Information you provide voluntarily — Subscription email: when you subscribe to the weekly newsletter via the form on our site, we collect your email address. Communications: when you contact us by email (editorial@, feedback@, partners@, etc.), we retain your email address and the content of the correspondence in order to respond and handle your enquiry. Other voluntarily provided information: if you participate in reader surveys or feedback forms and submit your name, occupation, or similar details, we store those too (submission is not compulsory).

Technical information collected automatically — When you visit the site, our servers may automatically log the following: IP address (anonymised), browser type and version, operating system, referrer (the site or link you arrived from), access time and session duration, pages visited and click behaviour. This information is collected via cookies and similar technologies and is used primarily for site security, traffic analytics, and content optimisation. We do not link IP addresses to any other personal data.

Information we do not collect — We do not collect names, phone numbers, home addresses, ID numbers, payment details, or other sensitive personal data (unless you voluntarily include them in an email, which we advise against). We do not serve behavioural advertising through third-party ad networks, and we do not collect cross-site browsing histories for advertising profiles.

Section 2

How We Use Your Information

Subscription email — Purpose: to send the weekly in-depth article digest and occasional important announcements (sent rarely). Legal basis: your consent, given by actively completing and confirming the subscription form.

Communications — Purpose: to reply to your enquiries, process fact-check requests, and improve the service. Legal basis: necessary to fulfil the request you have made.

Technical logs (IP, etc.) — Purpose: website security (attack prevention), access analytics, and load-speed optimisation. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site operational.

Cookie data — Purpose: to remember your language preference and avoid repeated prompts. Legal basis: your consent via browser settings.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.

Section 3

Cookie Policy

This site uses essential functional cookies and statistical cookies.

Essential cookies: required for core site functions (such as language selection). These do not require consent.

Statistical cookies: we use first-party analytics tools (no data is transmitted to third parties) to count visits and measure page popularity. IP addresses are anonymised.

You can reject all cookies via your browser settings, but this may affect some site functionality.

Section 4

Data Storage and Security

Storage location: your subscription email address and correspondence are stored on cloud servers located within the EU, or with providers that meet GDPR standards. We do not transfer data to third countries that lack adequate data-protection laws.

Security measures: the site uses HTTPS encrypted transmission; email databases use strong password policies and regular backups; internal access rights are limited to necessary personnel and governed by confidentiality agreements.

Please note: no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We take reasonable steps to protect your information but cannot give absolute guarantees.

Data retention — Subscription emails: retained for as long as you remain subscribed; deleted from the mailing list within 30 days of unsubscribing. Correspondence: retained for no more than 2 years; resolved emails are automatically deleted after 2 years. Technical logs: retained for no more than 90 days for security analysis and performance monitoring.

Section 5

Your Rights

You have the following rights, exercisable free of charge (GDPR and equivalent frameworks):

Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data. Right to erasure ('right to be forgotten'): request deletion of your personal data. Right to restrict processing: request that we pause processing of your data in certain circumstances. Right to data portability: request your data in a structured, commonly used format. Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interest. Right to withdraw consent: for data processed on the basis of your consent (e.g. newsletter subscription), you may withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@trisourceobserve.com. We will respond within 30 days. To verify your identity, we may ask for necessary proof (such as the email address used to subscribe).

Section 6

Third-Party Links

Articles on this site may contain source links to third-party websites. This privacy policy does not apply to those sites. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

Section 7

Children's Privacy

Our content is intended for general adult readers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are a guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected a child's data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Section 8

International Data Transfers

Because we use EU-based servers, your data is processed within the EU. If you access the site from outside the EU, please note that your information will be transferred to the EU. We rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses recognised by the GDPR to ensure the lawfulness of such transfers.

Section 9

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes — such as changes to data-processing purposes or third-party sharing — will be notified via a notice on the homepage or by email to subscribers. The 'Effective date' at the top of this policy reflects the current version. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Section 10
